Today I downloaded the Adobe Premiere Pro 1 week free trial, but due to the fact that my computer was short on disk space, the download took longer since I had to clean out my computer first so that it had space to download. While it was downloading, though, I watched a tutorial on how to use the basic functions of Adobe Premiere which was good because I have only ever used iMovie, and this app is very different; it is more efficient, there are more functions, the cuts are cleaner. I started editing episode 1 and I cut up the video (ie. deleted me messing up words or getting up to rewind the teleprompter).

After that I decided to take a break and I started working on making material to post on Instagram. Canva has great templates, so I am making all of my posts there - so far I have made 6. It’s more difficult than I thought to think of posts that would promote my web series without saying “Watch my web series please”. Here are all my postts so far:

I also went online to figure out how much I should post on Instagram and so that I know roundly how many posts I will need to make and when the best time is to post (for both Instagram and YouTube), and I found out that:

The best time to post on Instagram is:

  • Sunday: 10 AM – 2 PM CDT

  • Monday: 11 AM – 5 PM CDT

  • Tuesday: 5 AM, 9 AM – 6 PM CDT

  • Wednesday: 5 AM, 11 AM, *3 PM CDT

  • Thursday: *5 AM, *11 AM, *3 – 4 PM CDT

  • Friday: *5 AM, 9 AM – 4 PM CDT

  • Saturday: 11 AM CDT

* = particularly high levels of engagement (Clifford Chi)

Ideal umber of posts on Instagram: 1-1.5 (Erin)

The best time to post on YouTube is: 2-4PM (Chris Parbey)

I decided to post my YouTube videos every Monday, so I put reminders in my calendar to post starting on December 16th and ending January 20th which is the day before the Product is due.
