Today I finished editing episode 1! I went through and found images to go with was I was saying, I made text banners and stuff, I made a logo, and I also made an intro.

LOGO/OUTRO SCREEN:

I decided that I wanted to use an upside-down 8th note because the line and the flag made a funky v-shape, but the 8th notes on Canva were ugly, so I went with a 16th note instead. On Canva I also made an outro screen for the end of my video that has my Instagram and YouTube handles which I will make into links when I upload them.

MUSIC:

I usually use Bensound, but the selection there didn’t have any good lofi music so I tried out the YouTube Audio Library - I had heard a lot of good things about it, I just never used it. I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of music there, but I picked a playlist of happy and bright music and eventually found a couple of songs that I liked, but I narrowed it down to two songs: Call-Me for the rug music for the whole episode, and then Feel Good for the rug music of the ending (ie. like & subscribe, etc.) I picked pop because I am afraid that if I choose classical it might drive people away because of the stigma that classical music = boring.

VIDEO INTRO:

I watched a tutorial on the best intro maker websites/apps to use, but the free ones were too basic, so I tried a Renderforest because I thought was free, but I learned after making an intro that it was free to make, not to download. So then I found another website called PlaceIt that had a bunch of cool intros, which were much easier to personalize than the other website’s. I picked a couple and narrowed it down to two, which I showed my parents and they chose one. But they said that I should change the color palette to match the logo more, change the music from peppy to classical, and write out VerdiHepful in the logo to make the music note being a V more obvious. I like the logo much better now, and they were totally right about it being more obvious after the changes. I was fine with changing the color scheme, too, but I was a bit on edge about picking different music because I already picked lofi pop to be the rug music for the video, so the intro music already fit. But I tried looking for classical music for the intro anyway, and PlaceIt had a good selection, so I eventually found a piece, and after listening to it and watching the intro with the new color and new music, I conceded that perhaps I should use classical music for my video. I’ll look for music tomorrow and try it out in the video.
