Today I worked some more on composing the aria - my goal is to finish it by the end of this week. I am currently away in New York so I should have enough down-time to get it all done. Today I listened to what I composed on the 30th and I disliked it so I deleted it and completely redid the recitative, then redid it again, and I like it much better now. I can read music for treble clef, but I down know any other clefs, and my knowledge of how to use music notes is good, but a little bit limited, so it has been difficult for me to figure out how to translate what I hear in my head onto the page. I am especially struggling with the harpsichord, and I don’t know what’s wrong; maybe it’s just that people can bring more to the harpsichord than a computer, or maybe the notes are wrong, or maybe the temp is too fast - I don’t know. It was really frustrating me so I decided to look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow
