Today I continued composing - I have introduced the goddesses Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera. It took me a while to figure out which instruments should represent them - I knew I wanted Aphrodite to be a flute, but I was also thinking that since there are three of them they could be violin, viola, and cello, but I also really liked the sound of the oboe. In the end I decided to pick 3 instruments that were all in the same clef so that I could make chords more easily. I chose flute for Aphrodite, Oboe for Athena, and Violin for Hera. The flute is airy and has a naturally high register which reflects aphrodite’s beauty and vanity, the oboe is a more understated sound but it still has dignity, which is why I picked it for Athena, and then the violin has richness and power which reflects Hera nicely.
